Between 2003 and 2006, the legendary Blue Note label released the 'Blue Note's Sidetracks' series. This asked a number of well-known DJs and artists to compile and edit their favourite Blue Note Jazz tracks.
In 2006, Hooverphonic's Alex Callier was allowed to compile his ultimate compilation. The result is a beautiful mix of Alex's favourite songs, mostly vocal jazz numbers. All given a modern twist by Alex Callier himself. That same year, Tom Barman, frontman of dEUS, was also allowed to compile his ultimate album. The result is an eclectic mix of Tom's favourite jazz songs, interspersed with painters talking about art.
These releases are now being reissued for the first time back on an exclusive, numbered blue 2LP.
